Elias David Moncado
Elias David Moncado is the youngest-ever winner of the First Prize, along with 10 special prizes, at the 2019 International Karol Lipiński Violin Competition.
In 2021, he secured first place at both the International Valsesia Musica Competition and the International Vladimir Spivakov Competition. Additionally, Elias is the youngest laureate of the 7th Sendai International Violin Competition in Japan, which took place in 2019.
In 2024, Elias was named a laureate of the Gauthier Capuçon Foundation, and the previous year, he was awarded a scholarship by the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation.
In 2023, he toured with Anne-Sophie Mutter and the ensemble “Mutter’s Virtuosi”, performing in Iceland, the United States, Canada, and across Europe. As a soloist, Elias has performed with numerous prestigious orchestras, including the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonie Baden-Baden, the Göttinger Symphonieorchester, the Brandenburger Symphoniker, the Freiburger Philharmoniker, the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, the MAV Budapest Symphony Orchestra, and the Wrocław Opera Symphony Orchestra.
He has also appeared at many renowned festivals, such as the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Kissinger Musiksommer, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Mozartfestival Schloss Schwetzingen, and the Rhein-Ruhr Festival Recklinghausen. As a chamber musician, he has performed at the Gstaad Menuhin Festival.
Elias has studied in Berlin and at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, among other institutions. He is currently refining his skills as a young soloist at the Kronberg Academy under the guidance of Professor Mihaela Martin. As a prize winner and recipient of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben Hamburg scholarship, he plays on a Giambattista Rogeri violin from Brescia (circa 1700) and a G.B. Guadagnini violin from Turin (circa 1771), generously provided by a private patron.
