WINNERS’ CONCERT
The grand finale of the 6th International Karol Lipiński Violin Competition is now behind us —and what an exhilarating event it was!
During the Winners' Concert, the main and special prizes were awarded.
Let’s recap the results once again:
First Prize, €15,000 – Sunjae Ok (South Korea) – the award was presented by Adam Szponka, Deputy Mayor of Toruń, and Łukasz Walkusz, Chairman of the Toruń City Council.
Second Prize, €10,000 – Lorenz Karls (Sweden) – the award was presented by Piotr Całbecki, Marshal of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship.
Third Prize, €6,000 – Wonbeen Chung (South Korea) – the award was presented by Izabela Wiśniewska, Technical Director of STRABAG Polska, representing STRABAG, the Competition's Strategic Patron.
Distinction, €2,000 – Hanna Pozorska (Poland) – the award was presented by Katarzyna Czachowska from the Management Office of Toruń's Dressing Materials Plant, on behalf of Jarosław Józefowicz, President of the plant and brands Seni, Bella, Matopat, and Happy, the Competition Sponsor.
Distinction, €2,000 – Carla Marrero Martinez (Spain) – the award was presented by Wojciech Dobrak, President of PGE Toruń, on behalf of PGE, the Competition's Main Sponsor and Patron of Culture.
Distinction, €2,000 – Sarah Jegou-Sageman (France) – the award was presented by Dainius Pavilionis, Artistic Director of the competition.
The Youth Jury Award went to Carla Marrero Martinez – presented by Robert Łaguniak, Chairman of the Youth Jury, as well as the Office Award, presented by Magdalena Bąk, the competition coordinator.
The Audience Award – presented by a representative of the audience – and the Toruń Symphony Orchestra Award – presented by concertmaster Izabela Bogusz – both went to Sunjae Ok.
Additionally, each finalist received at least one special award.
After the Winners' Concert, a formal banquet was held.
