Daniel Stabrawa - Chairman of the Jury
Daniel Stabrawa embarked on his artistic journey as the concertmaster of the Cracow Radio Orchestra. After a brief stint, he transitioned to Berlin following successful auditions with the Berlin Philharmonic in 1983. Within a few years, Stabrawa achieved another milestone by winning a competition and securing the position of the first concertmaster of the esteemed orchestra.
Personally selected by Herbert von Karajan, he became the maestro’s right-hand man.
Expanding his musical horizons, Stabrawa curated a string quartet comprised of Berlin Philharmonic musicians, garnering global acclaim. He dedicated a significant portion of his artistic endeavours to touring worldwide with this ensemble. In addition to his orchestral commitments, Stabrawa pursued an active solo career. Notably, he delivered captivating performances of both Szymanowski concertos with the Berlin Philharmonic under the batons of Jansons and Rattle.
