Aoi Saito / Japan
Born and raised in Tokyo, Aoi Saito is a distinguished violinist and graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts, where she studied under Asako Urushihara and Natsumi Tamai. She is currently furthering her studies in Berlin at the Universität der Künste with Latica Honda-Rosenberg.
Saito has participated in master classes with renowned violinists such as Miriam Fried, Leonidas Kavakos, and Mihaela Martin. She has received numerous awards at prestigious competitions and festivals, including the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in 2023 (New Zealand) and First Prize at the Violinwettbewerb der Ibolyka-Gyarfas-Stiftung in Berlin.
Saito has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Geidai Philharmonia Orchestra and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Her festival appearances include the Miyazaki International Music Festival and La Folle Journée in Japan. As an accomplished chamber musician, Saito has been invited multiple times to the Seiji Ozawa International Academy in Switzerland and the Villars Music Academy, showcasing her versatility and passion for ensemble performance.
