Yoanna Ruseva / Bulgaria

From an early age, Yoanna Ruseva has garnered acclaim for her solo and chamber music performances. In 2006, she was recognized in Sofia for her debut in the “Musician of the Year” category after performing with the Dobrich Symphony Orchestra.

Over the years, she has accumulated numerous awards at both national and international competitions. Notable accolades include the second prize at the Jaroslav Kocian Competition (2008), the Grand Prix at the international competition “La Musique et la Terre” in Paris (2020), a special prize at the Rubinstein Competition in Düsseldorf (2019), and the audience prize at the International Goldberg Competition in Meissen (2019). 

Ruseva is currently studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under the tutelage of Elisabeth Kropfitsch. She performs on a 1794 Deconet violin, generously lent to her by the University. 

In September 2023, she earned the position of leader of the second violin in the Baden City Theatre orchestra ensemble after a successful audition.
