Ang Chen was born in China and he began studying the violin at the age of 4. Since September 2018 he has been pursuing the Artist Diploma at the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM), the most advanced diploma for performance studies, under the supervision of professor Ilya Kaler. Before that, in May 2018, he received his Master of Music degree at the CIM under the supervision of Professor Jinjoo Cho. In 2016, he received his Bachelor’s Degree at the Central Conservatory of Music in China earning the title of “Model Student of Academic Records”. From September 2014 to June 2015 he worked in China Youth Symphony Orchestra. From 2012 to 2016, he was a student of Professors Liang Chai and Bin Yu. In September 2014 he won the fifth prize at the Guangya Chengdu International Violin Competition in Chengdu, China.
